New Words – Oxford Dictionary Adds 400 New Words

“Sexting,” “Cyberbullying,” “Woot,” “textspeak” and “Retweet” are now considered legitimate words as those have been recently recognized and included in the latest edition of the Oxford English Dictionary (OED).

The four above-mentioned terms which became popular in social media are just among the 400 new words added to the 12th edition of the Concise Oxford English Dictionary .

According to OED 12th edition editor Angus Stevenson, the creativity of today’s young netizens has given birth to a range of unusual sounding words like momo, noob, nurdle, and woot.
