‘Kate Plus 8’ Canceled by TLC

TLC has canceled the reality show “Kate Plus 8,” formerly known as “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

Just a few hours after the cancellation, Kate Gosselin‘s ex-husband Jon Gosselin released a statement saying he was “very relieved.”

In an interview with RadarOnline, the father of the Gosselin brood, said, “I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future.”

Still, Gosselin seems sympathetic towards his ex-wife.

“I have no clue what her next move is,” he said. “I hope she dedicates more time to the kids now, and I wish her the best as she goes forward with whatever career she wants to pursue.”

The final episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 aired on November 23, 2009, announced by TLC three days earlier. The revamped Kate Plus Eight format premiered on June 6, 2010. The second season of Kate Plus 8 premiered on November 28, 2010. However, On August 15, 2011, TLC canceled Kate Plus 8 and said that the show will end after it hits 150 episodes
