Bagyong Juaning OUT, Kabayan IN

Tropical Storm Juaning has moved out from the Philippine Area of Responsibility according to Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical System Administration (PAGASA) said Thursday.

The last “Juaning” bulletin from PAGASA was issued at 11 a.m. this morning wherein the weather disturbance was last located at 370 km West Northwest of Laoag City and is now packing maximum winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is moving West Northwest at 24 kph.

All public storm signals have now been lowered.

Meanwhile, another low pressure has formed into a tropical depression and is named “Kabayan.” The storm is believed to be stronger than Juaning.

Although Kabayan is being expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Friday, forecasters reportedly said that it will not make a landfall like Juaning. However, the cyclone will enhance the southwest monsoon which brings rains in affected areas this weekend.
