“Hugo” is an upcoming adventure film based on Brian Selznick‘s novel “The Invention of Hugo Cabret.” It is directed by Martin Scorsese, co-produced by Scorsese, Johnny Depp, Graham King, and Tim Headington, and written by John Logan.

The film stars Asa Butterfield (Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang), Chloë Moretz (Kick Ass, 500 Days of Summer), Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time), and Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Bruno).

Here is the plot of the movie:

The film tells the tale of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. When Hugo encounters a broken automaton, an eccentric girl, and the cold, reserved man who runs the toy shop, he is caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure that could put all of his secrets in jeopardy.

This is Scorsese’s first film shot in 3D and it is due to be released in the Philippines on February 2012, with distribution by Paramount Pictures and FilmDistrict.
