“Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” the third installment of the Transformers franchise, had a $92.1 million box-office gross over the last 3 days. The Michael Bay-helmed movie edged out The Hangover Part II‘s record of $91.3 million as the top-grossing three-day start of 2011 so far.

However, its predecessor, Revenge of the Fallen, had generated $127.9 million by day three so the film was not able to break its own record.
