TV5 is Media Partner of Mowelfund’s Grand Musical Salute to 92 Years of Philippine Cinema

TV5 is the official media partner of “Pinilakang Tabing: Handog sa Pelikulang Pilipino.”

As the official media partner of “Pinilakang Tabing: Handog sa Pelikulang Pilipino,” TV5 will provide online livestreaming red carpet coverage of the grand musical salute to 92 years of Philippine cinema, a project of the Movie Workers Welfare Fund (Mowelfund) together with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

Written by Floy Quintos and directed by Chris Millado, the gala presentation will be held at the CCP’s Tanghalang Nicanor Aberlardo on June 22 at 8:00 p.m. and will gather the industry’s most respected stars, producers, filmmakers and movie stakeholders who are all instrumental to the richness and brilliance of Philippine cinema throughout the decades.

Pinilakang Tabing: Handog sa Pelikulang Pilipino features a musical journey starting from the film version of the popular sarswela “Dalagang Bukid” to the post-war films up to the big studios of the ‘50s. The theme of popular love teams will be presented as well as the Cebuano cinema scene. There will also be a presentation about the decade of socially relevant films and the emergence of independent films.
