‘The Tree of Life’ Starring Brad Pitt Wins 2011 Cannes Film Festival Best Picture

"The Tree of Life," a film featuring some surreal and sci-fi elements bagged this year's Palme D'oR

Heath Ledger was supposed to star in this movie but because he passed away, he was replaced by Brad Pitt.

Also starring in the film are Jessica Chastain (Jolene) and Academy Award winner Sean Penn (I Am Sam, Mystic River). Directed by Academy Award nominee Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line), The Tree of Life is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2011.
