‘In the Name of Love’ Hits P47.31-M on its First 5 Days

Star Cinema's romantic drama "In the Name of Love" starring Angel Locsin and Aga Muhlach had an opening weekend gross of P47.31 million.

The Olivia Lamasan-helmed movie which also stars Jake Cuenca on his best performance ever topped Philippine box-office for the opening weekend of May 11 to 15, 2011. It bested the opening weekend record of previous leader, Hollywood film “Fast Five” which had a 5-day gross of P47 million last week.

Here’s the Philippine box office tally (Top 10) for the opening weekend of May 11 to 15, 2011 according to Box Office Mojo (premiering movies are highlighted in yellow):

    it took “Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak!” 4 weeks to earn 70+ milyon of earnings while “In the Name of Love” took only 5 days to earn 47+ milyon, OMG. Well maganda talaga movie as a whole and the casting was really good that really contributed to the success of ITNOL kahit na sabihin na mas maliit ang audience ang kini-cater nito bcoz of its B – rate and its deviation from the usual pa-cute trend of Philippine love stories in cinema.
