‘The Price is Right’ Gives Big, Wins Big on its Saturday Debut

Queen of All Media and “The Price is Right” host Kris Aquino welcomed her show’s fifth grand winner last April 2 as the game show debuted on its new airing schedule every Saturdays after “Failon Ngayon.”

Contestant Regie Santos, a food attendant, took home more than P1.2 million worth of prizes, which included a brand new Mitsubishi Strada truck, a footware showcase, a 6-seater dining room set and P160,000 in cash.

His triumphant run from the show’s mini-game to the jackpot round still managed to amaze Kris, who has seen many moments of victory and luck as the host of other hit game shows like “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” and “Game Ka Na Ba.”

Meanwhile, Regie wasn’t the only one in a winning mood as “The Price is Right” also won big in the ratings game. With a 14.2 percent rating, it instantly entered the Top 10 TV programs nationwide based on data from Kantar Media.

It also easily beat GMA-7’s Wish Ko Lang! (12%) and TV5’s Willing-Willie (9.7%) to reign supreme on its new timeslot. These numbers clearly show that while Kris is the undisputed Queen of Game Shows, “The Price is Right” is also the number one game show in the country.

    Sa pangkalahatan, pumalo ang ABS-CBN first quarter ng 2011 sa average audience share na 36% laban sa 35% ng GMA.

    Mula Enero 1 hanggang Marso 31, nakuha ng ABS-CBN ang sampu sa top ten most watched programs para sa unang tatlong buwan ng taon.

    Una sa listahan ang Mara Clara sa average nationwide rating na 33.7% na sinusundan ng Mutya (33.2%), Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin (33.1%), Pilipinas Got Talent (29.7), Noah (28%), TV Patrol (27.1%), Imortal (25.5%), Maalaala Mo Kaya (24.4%), Rated K (23.4%), Wansapanataym (21.8%) at Goin’ Bulilit (21.5%).

    Price is Right matutulad din iyan sa Bingo game show ni Kris less than 6 month wala na sa programa.. nalugi kasi malaki magbigay ng prices pero wala namang commercial endoresement at patay ang rating.

  6. bobo ka pala eh! ang point dito hindi lang ang eb ang lumalagpas ng 20 ads yan ang point dito hindi ko po sinasabi na magkatapat ang eb at showtime…………..oo nga madaming ads ang eb pero ang tanong napupunta ba yun sa pondo ng gme hindi diba !

    Talagang piangkakaabalahan ng GMA ngayon puro ratings. Wala eh, dyan na lang sila may pag asa.Kasi nadadaya at namamanipulate. Other than that lahat –flops.

    Broadcaster ABS-CBN Corp. claimed the lead in national primetime television ratings for the month of March, citing data from its own market research firm on Thursday.

    ABS-CBN said in a statement that it had an average 42% audience share during the period, as compared to rival network GMA Network, Inc.’s 30% share.

    In Mega Manila alone, ABS-CBN said several of its shows have beaten rival network’s programs in similar time slots.

  10. tanga number 76.. pagmalaki mo shows na yan.. eh maghahatian pa GMA at TAPE prod dyan..

    eh ung sa Showtime at HYY, na mas mahal ang ad rates eh solong solo ng ABS.

    eh baka maghirap naman ang GMA kung walang EB, Korean dramas, at Anime Imports na tanging nagrarate sa kanila!!
