Her song "Friday" has been criticized as "painful" to the ears but how come it became viral?

Rebeccca Black is the newest teen artist to become a YouTube sensation. However, critics lambasted her debut single saying it was “bizarre”, “inept” and “hilariously dreadful.”

Kevin Rutherford, a columnist for Billboard magazine, said the singing is “straight out of Auto-Tuned hell” and the lyrics of the song is ridiculous.

Painful to the ears? You be the judge.

    if they’re saying this girl’s voice is horrible, then they should find the voices of the girls in high school musical horrible too. she’s sound like ashley tisdale and vanessa hudgens. and the lyrics like repeating most of the words (friday-friday…) no different from lady gaga’s and kesha’s, so they should also find their songs stupid and ridiculous too. — BUT, high school musical, lady gaga, and kesha we’re all hits in the US. really weird to say this song is all bad.

    the video itself is kinda ridiculous, esp the extras who play the singer’s friends (LOL to the girls at the backseat)

    HANEP, rinig nyo lyrics ng kanta nyan, napaka obvious nman na bago mang Friday, thursday muna, at pagaktapos ng friday saturday and sunday, kailangan pa bang sabihin yan sa kanta???…kahit kinder pwedeng gawin ang lyrics na yan….

    this must be the most stupid song i have ever heard. like wth??? the lyrics of the song would tell you that yesterday’s thursday, today’s friday then saturday and sunday… f*kc u ms. black! we all know that! rachel berry’s “my headband” and “only child” would be more bearable than this one, promise! not to mention that one of her girlfriend in the video makes the funniest, “dumbest” and most undefined facial expression in the whole world i’ve seen. if i were to grade this one, i’m gonna give it an 83% – for a high school category of project in a lower section class in a mediocre school!
