Azkals Lose to Mongolia but Advance to Next Stage of AFC Challenge Cup
By virtue of the Azkals’ winning the tie, 3-2, on goal aggregate during the second round of their 2-leg qualifier match that took place at the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) Football Centre in Ulan Bator, the Philippine sensational football team’s quest for glory continues.
During today’s match in Mongolia which was aired by Studio 23, the Philippines took an early lead when James Younghusband hit a goal in the third minute of their match but Mongolia pulled one back in 21st minute through their skipper, Lumbengarav Donorov.
Mongolia sealed the win after Garidmagnai Bayasgalan scored again on the rebound off penalty during the 34th minute of the game.
The Philippine Azkals will face Myanmar next on March 21, then they will compete against the team from Palestine on March 23 and then a match against Bangladesh on March 25.
