Oscar Watch: ‘The Black Swan’

The Black Swan makes 2011 the year of Natalie Portman.

The Black Swan is a psychological thriller film helmed by Darren Aronofsky, the critically-acclaimed director of “The Wrestler”, touted as 2008’s Best Indie Film.

The film stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as ballet dancers in a New York City production of Swan Lake. The production requires a ballerina to play both the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan. Nina (Portman) fits for the White Swan and Lily (Kunis) fits for the Black Swan. When the two compete for the parts, Nina finds a dark side of herself.

Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 88% fresh.

Natalie Portman is highly expected to bag the Oscar Best Actress trophy come February 27. To date, she has won 7 Best Actress trophies for her performance in “The Black Swan” including a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and a Screen Actor’s Guild.

The Black Swan opens in Philippine theaters on February 23, 2011.

    I Heart you pare walang kwenta napaka boring dapat tsugiin na iyan.No chemistry between regine and dingdong I dont like the story we know the ending na common sense si regine for sure at si dingdong magkakatuluyan sa huli dahil malalaman ni dingdong na tunay na babae si regine , hayz!!!! pilipino talaga gumawa nalang ng teleserye wala pang kwenta. ang IMORTAL pang world class full of excitement, superb acting at ang gaganda pa nila John Lloyd you are such a superb actor Angel Locsin super ganda ka You are such a pride and honor to every Pilipino.     Love the plot of the movie and the powerful performances of the cast makes the movie one of the most remarkable films of 2010.:)
