ABS-CBN to Remake ‘Mula sa Puso’

After the successful remake of "Mara Clara" which is currently the most-watched tv program nationwide, ABS-CBN is planning to remake another classic soap opera.

The highly-rated drama series “Mula sa Puso” which launched the careers of Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan in the 90s will grace primetime television once again.

“Mula sa Puso” premiered on March 10, 1997 and ended on April 2, 1999 and soared in primetime viewership for more than 2 years with as high as 56.5% tv rating. It was re-aired in Studio 23 and Kapamilya Channel, which are both ABS-CBN subsidiaries. It was also made into a movie under Star Cinema.

Aside from Claudine and Rico, the original characters of the said soap opera were Diether Ocampo, Patrick Garcia, Rica Peralejo, and Princess Punzalan as the villain.

Now for the new version, will ABS-CBN cast new talents or will they give the roles to some young stars we are already familiar with? Who will be the new Via and Gabriel?
