ABS-CBN to Remake ‘Mula sa Puso’

After the successful remake of "Mara Clara" which is currently the most-watched tv program nationwide, ABS-CBN is planning to remake another classic soap opera.

The highly-rated drama series “Mula sa Puso” which launched the careers of Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan in the 90s will grace primetime television once again.

“Mula sa Puso” premiered on March 10, 1997 and ended on April 2, 1999 and soared in primetime viewership for more than 2 years with as high as 56.5% tv rating. It was re-aired in Studio 23 and Kapamilya Channel, which are both ABS-CBN subsidiaries. It was also made into a movie under Star Cinema.

Aside from Claudine and Rico, the original characters of the said soap opera were Diether Ocampo, Patrick Garcia, Rica Peralejo, and Princess Punzalan as the villain.

Now for the new version, will ABS-CBN cast new talents or will they give the roles to some young stars we are already familiar with? Who will be the new Via and Gabriel?

    Fretzie Bercede ! For the lead role lady . She’s pretty and talented. For the guy, mahirap. If they want Ivan Dorchner or James Reid, It would be very difficult cos they’re not familiar with tagalog. Maybe Sam Concepcion or Robi Domingo would be good 😀

    (lauren, charee, emmanualle, devon,tippy and thara) ang napili na mag audition for the role of trina, joie,and via.. na basa ko lang poh ..

    i like devon seron among the 6 girls na pinag audition para sa MSP .. but i think lauren is the one who got the role of via.. .. so ok lng,kung xa man pro sana mapasama c devs sa casting ng MSP. kht d xa ang lead role.. .. i luv her so much..

    Scoopbox: May unconfirmed report na si Charee Pineda raw ang napipisil na magbida sa ABS-CBN soap opera na “Mula sa Puso” na pinagbidahan noon ni Claudine Barretto. Si Charee ay lumabas na sa Kapamilya soaps na “Katorse” at “Alyna”.

    Charie Pineda and JM de Guzman, they have both proven their chemistry in Alyna. Both are good actors as well (In Fact, Charie ad already receved a Best Actress award). The mestisa and the moreno-type; they’re perfect for the Via-Gabriel roles.

    Tama suggestion ko so far…sa mga nag-aagree…Hopefully, it will push through. 😀

    JM for GABRIEL and CHAREE for OLIVIA they do have what it takes charee improved a lot and mejo matagal tagal na din siya sa industry as for jm actor na siya eh since yun din ang tinake niya sa college. they both have it chamistry and looks, bagay na bagay. tfc subscribers like me wants the two of them as the lead roles in MSP remake:)

    I’m not a super fan of JM De Guzman and Charee Pineda I just watched Charee in Katorse and she is really good not to mention her looks and JM in Precious Hearts and he really acts well better than any other for the Role in remake of Mula sa Puso. Hope ABS could give them a try. Let them audition para mas fair. And for the role of diet better if it could be given to xiam lim. Very close to the real set of characters.

    for me jm de guzman din! i’m sure na kayang kaya nya yung gawin!sya pa, eh bukod sa galing nya sa pag-arte napaka-talented din at panalong panalo ang face!heartthrob na humble ang dating! not only graduate sya sa u.p., indie actor pa at nag pakita na rin sya ng proof nya sa galing sa pag arte! sigurado akong magiging hit ang bagong MSP kung sya ang gaganap sa role ni gabriel! go jm !

    For the role of Gabriel, I bet JM de Guzman kasi hindi lang naman dapat face value pinag-uusapan dito pero ung kakayahan niya na dalhin yung role. As for Via, hindi bagay kay Charee eh. Maganda sana kay Erich yung role kaso may Maria la del Barrio na siya di ba? Sayang bagay pa naman sila. Ang pangit kasi kung pare-pareho lang yung alam nating mga love team. Sana mga bago like yung sa Mara Clara, bagong tandems and faces.

    JM De Guzman deserves the Gabriel role more than anybody else. This guy has talent and passion in his craft. Tama, ibigay ang role sa totoong actor, at si JM yan. Mula sa Puso Remake deserves the best cast.
