‘Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na ‘To’ Beats ‘Rosario’ for Best Picture in 2010 MMFF
“Rosario”, one of the only 2 films graded A for excellence by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) and expected by critics to sweep the awards, lost the Best Picture trophy to the comedy entry “Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na To!” The other graded A film, RPG Metanoia, was named 3rd Best Picture while Rosario settled for 2nd Best Picture.
The Star Cinema comedy entry won a total of 9 awards including Best Director for Wenn Deramas, Best Supporting Actress for Eugene Domingo and Best Actress for Ai Ai delas Alas.
“Rosario”, on the other hand, won 6 awards: Aside from 2nd Best Picture it also won the Gatpuno Villagas Cultural Award, Best Supporting Actor for Dolphy, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. The film’s lead star Jennylyn Mercado was not even nominated for Best Actress and its director, Albert Martinez, was not even nominated for Best Director.
Aside from Best Supporting Actor, the Comedy King also won Best Actor for Father Jejemon.

di ko kinukuwestiyon ang pagkakapanalo ng tanging ina last na to for best picture at ai ai for best actress deserving naman sila to win dahil ang sinunod na criteria ay for family entertainment and fun pero DISMAYADO ako sa MMFF dahil di man lang bibnigyan ng konsiderasyon si Direk Albert Martinez na manominate as best director para sa Rosario samantalang nanalo ito ang pelikula ng best cinematography, editing, production design, supporting actor for dolphy at Gatpuno cultural awards pero si mike tuviera na nominated sa best director ay best sound lang ang naiuwi for super inday? nakakalola diba? Napanood ko ang both film,ang tanging ina at rosario maganda pareho pero kung lalim at pang-intelektwal na basehan ang pg-uusapan, panalong-panalo ang rosario for best picture talaga. deserving rin si jennylyn mercado na manominate kesa kay Carla Abellana sa SSR 12 napanood ko na rin ang acting ni carla sorry pero di ko nakitaan ng ng brillance ang acting niya sa punerarya episode.

Napaka walang kwenta ng MMFF awards night this year… Halatang chosen by popularity at hindi talaga pinagbasehan yung movies kung kanino talaga mapupunta yung mga awards. Kung baga kung sno yung mabigat dun ibibigay yung award.

We have watched both rosario and tanging ina..Both Ai-ai and jenilyn are commendable for their acting skills…But id rather go for rosario for best pic and best actress plums for a very simple reason..BIBIHIRA LANG TAYONG GUMAWA NG “OLD GENERATION” MOVIES, AND THIS IS ONE OF A KIND..eh ang comedy/drama movies, anjan lang palagi yan…

nakapanoood na ako sa dalawang movie.. c jen, di nia nagampanan ang role.. for me pangalawa lang xa compared to ai-ai, she deserves to be nominated.. d dapat nominated c karla tsaka c marian, dapat c jen at kris.. true story kaya ang rosario.. ok na ok ang movie na rosario, deserving talaga to be the 2nd best picture.. sa tnging ina naman, deserving talaga c ai-ai to be the best actress this year.. pagdating sa iyakan, magaling c ai-ai, madadala ka talaga c acting nia, tapos bigla nalang bibirit ng punchline kahit napaiyak kana ng todo, kaya tawanan na naman.. mahirap kaya yun!!
dito sa amin sa iligan city, mindanao, ang haba-haba ng pila ng dalaw at tanging ina.. grabeh!! #1 kasi dito abs-cbn.. nakakatawa nga kasi yung agimat at enteng kabisote wala masayado pumapansin, tsaka yung super inday and the golden bibe.. this is a proof na abs-cbn rules dito sa iligan city.. kung tutuusin mas clear pa nga ang reception ng gma dito pero mas pinipili ng mga taga dito panoorin ang abs-cbn shows kahit malabo ang reception..
nagrerelakmo ang producer ng Rosario para mapag-usapan at manunood ang mga tao. Gusto lang nila kumita ang pelikula nila, sa laki ba nman “daw” ng gastos. Bulok style na yan. Kaya may hurado para pumili ng best among the best. Kung di nyo gusto, puntahan nyo ang tanggapan ng MMMF para doon kayo magreklamo.

Tanging Ina deserves the award for best picture. Manood na lang kayo para malaman nyo. MMFF have the selected body of jurors to pick the best. Wag maging bitter kung hindi na-nominate ang film na gusto nyo. MMFF has also standards na sinusunod. Walang kwenta ang MMFF Awards kung binayaran lang or may pabor ang film para manalo. Hindi worth it ang pagkapanalo nila. Look also for reviews and ticket sales para may idea kayo kung bakit panalo sila.
