There are clamors to pair Marian with her ex-boyfriend Ervic Vijandre in the upcoming GMA epicserye with the working title "Amaya."

“Amaya” (working title), dubbed as an epicserye, is said to change the landscape of Philippine television in 2011. Also the first historical soap opera, Amaya topbills GMA’s Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.

It’s a story about Bai Amaya, Bai meaning “Princess” in Islam.

“The story dates back to the 1500s. We are coordinating with the historical department of the University of the Philippines to make sure that every detail on this show is accurate,” said Lilybeth Rasonable, GMA-7′s Vice President for Drama.

According to reports, a Kapamilya hunk was supposed to transfer to GMA to be Marian Rivera‘s leading man in Amaya. There were speculations that the hunk was either Zanjoe Marudo or Diether Ocampo but apparently, the supposed transfer did not push through.

Since Dingdong Dantes, Marian’s real and reel partner, is being paired with Regine Velasquez in “I Heart You Pare”, he can’t take the role of Amaya’s leading man.

GMA is now looking in their list of Kapuso hunks that could play Amaya’s leading man and apparently, those who auditioned did not pass the test. But there are clamors, however, to pair Marian with his ex-boyfriend and Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown castaway Ervic Vijandre.

If ever the GMA executives give the role to Ervic, will Marian be professional enough to accept the decision or will she complain and ask for any leading man except her “ex”?
