The 8th Australian Film Festival Presents ‘Animate!’

Award-winning Australian animation hits the big screen as the Australian Embassy presents Animate!, a festival of short and feature-length animated Australian films.

Now in its 8th year, the much-awaited Australian Film Festival turns the spotlight on groundbreaking Australian animated feature and short films such as Adam Elliot’s clay animation masterpiece Mary and Max, his Oscar-winning Harvie Krumpet; and the innovative mix of live action and surreal hand-painted animation sequences in Look Both Ways.

Other festival must-sees include Oscar-nominated short films Ward 13, The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello and Birthday Boy; thought-provoking experimental shorts such as The Projectionist, Footnote, and Mother Tongue; and the highly entertaining Mozzie and The Magic Pudding.

Not to be missed are masterclasses by Shaun Patten from Mary and Max’s award-winning art department at the University of the Philippines Film Institute and the De La Salle University – College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts on the 25th of November.

Catch Animate! The 8th Australian Film Festival from November 26 to 28 at Glorietta 4, Cinema 4; and from December 1 to 5 at SM Cinema 1 in SM City Davao.
