Orcollo Captures 2nd Gold for PHL in Asian Games 2010

Dennis Orcollo wins 2nd gold medal for the Philippines when he defeated compatriot Warren Kiamco in an all-Filipino final in the 9-ball billiards event.

It was a guaranteed Gold-Silver finish for the Philippines in the said event after Orcollo whipped Jeong Young Hwa of Korea, 9-3, and Kiamco ousted Chinese Taipei’s Ko Pin Yi in their respective semi-final matches Wednesday night.

Orcollo defeated Kiamco, 9-7, for the country’s second gold medal and first silver medal.

The Philippines now has a total of 7 medals. Here’s our medalists as of November 18, 2010:

Gold: Engelberto Rivera, Bowling (Men’s Singles)
Gold: Dennis Orcollo, Cue Sports (Nine-Balls Men’s Single)
Silver: Warren Kiamco, Cue Sports ( Nine-Balls Men’s Single)
Bronze: Frederick Ong, Bowling (Men’s Singles)
Bronze: Ronnie Steeve Vergara and Charlea Lagaras, Dancesport (Latin – Paso Doble)
Bronze: Ronnie Steeve Vergara and Charlea Lagaras, Dancesport (Latin – Cha-Cha-Cha)
Bronze: Mark Eddiva, Wushu (Men’s Sanshou 65kg.)

Malaysia is still Southeast Asia’s best-performing country making it to the Top 10 of the medal tally with 3 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals. The Philippines is still at no. 11 followed by our neighboring countries Singapore (#13), Thailand (#14), Indonesia (#15), Vietnam (#18), Myanmar (#19) and Laos (#24).

China is still in the lead with 109 gold medals followed by South Korea with 37 and Japan with 21.

  1. congrats sa basketball team PHILIPPINES!! panalo sa kuwait at team ng QATAR.sad to say nga lang dahil talo sa IRAN at japan na 2 points lang ang lamang.sana bentahe na kung nanalo cla sa japan na makapasok sa quartefinals, but despite that, congrats uli, laban lang sa susunod sa india medyo angat ang team natin d2 tapos chinese taipei.sana makapasok sila sa QF!
