Latin American countries are dominating this year’s world of pageantry with Mexico winning Miss Universe, Venezuela winning Miss International, Puerto Rico winning Miss Intercontinental but with the exception of Miss World where the winner is from USA, which I must say is also part of the American continent.
All eyes are now on the last important pageant of the year–the Miss Earth Beauty Pageant–where beauty, brains and responsibility are the three key factors in selecting their queen.
Will Asia, South Africa or Europe finally have a Grand Slam beauty queen this year or the winner will still come from the Americas?
All I can say, for now, is that the early frontrunners for the Miss Earth crown are from Europe! Here they are:
BELGIUM, Jessica van Moorlegh, 18 y/o, 5.7″
CZECH REPUBLIC, Carmen Justová, 19 y/o, 5.9 1/2″
NETHERLANDS, Desiree van den Berg, 23 y/o, 5.9 1/2″
SERBIA, Tijana Rakic, 22 y/o, 5’11”
SLOVAK REPUBLIC, Tímea Szaboová, 20 y/o, 6′
SLOVENIA, Ines Draganovič, 19 y/o, 5′ 81/2″
Other early favorites include Misses Australia, Vietnam, Ecuador, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Nepal, Russia, South Africa and India.
But of course, the pageant is only beginning and our list of favorites will totally change as each candidates’ personality, wit, talent, fashion sense and environmental awareness are discovered.
