The Other Guys is an upcoming action-comedy film starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.

Directed and co-written by Adam McKay, the film stars also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Ray Stevenson, Steve Coogan, Rob Riggle and Damon Wayans Jr.

The film is scheduled to be released August 6, 2010. While this film parodies action-buddy-cop-films, it also obviously pays a tribute to the Martin and Lewis films, with Wahlberg in Dean Martin‘s straight man-role and Ferrell in Jerry Lewis‘s foil-shoes.

PLOT: New York City Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) is a forensic accountant who is more interested in paperwork than fieldwork. Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) has been stuck working with Gamble since an embarrassing shooting. Gamble and Hoitz both admire top cops Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) and Danson (Dwayne Johnson), but when Gamble and Hoitz’s chance to prove themselves arises, things don’t go as planned.
