Paolo Abrera Joins ANC, TJ Manotoc Moves to Primetime

Broadcaster TJ Manotoc is joining Ces Oreña-Drilon in “The Rundown,” ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel’s daily primetime newscast.

Bringing in his expertise in technology and social media, Manotoc will anchor a segment beginning Monday (August 2), 8pm featuring new gadgets and innovations that can be used to promote positive change, inspiring stories of social entrepreneurs and community heroes, and finally, brave reports from the citizen journalism campaign “Bayan Mo, iPatrol Mo.”

“This will be my small contribution to building the nation,” said Manotoc, who will get to display his techie side in “The Rundown” when he uses an I-Pad to show instant reactions from viewers as the show progresses.

Like him, popular sports enthusiast and broadcaster Paolo Abrera also wants to effect change in the lives of Filipinos as the newest addition to “Mornings@ANC” starting Monday (August 2), 9am.

Abrera, who joins Ginger Conejero, Ron Cruz, and Gigi Grande in the show, will take over the sports and technology beats and will get to push his advocacy for nature in the all-new “Going Green” segment.

The broadcast veteran said he can’t wait to join the “Mornings@ANC” team in delivering the biggest news and the most significant information to start up Filipinos’ day.

“I’m very excited to be part of such a respected news organization and doubly excited to be part of a team that completes ANC-viewer’s morning-news habit,” he said.

Meanwhile, ANC anchor Tony Velasquez also recently launched his new technology show “Future Perfect” with features on the practical uses of technology for Filipinos. “Future Perfect” airs every Wednesday at 7pm.

ANC likewise began its 4-part investigative series on the scandals that rocked the Arroyo Administration. Anchored by Senior ABS-CBN reporter Lynda Jumilla, “The Arroyo Years: A Legacy of Unfinished Business” began last July 26 with a look into the fertilizer scam. On Monday, Aug. 2, at 9.30 pm, the series will give us new insights into the “Hello, Garci” scandal.

ANC’s elite pool of anchors, on the other hand, will follow and discuss the major issues that President Aquino faced, week by week, on “The First 100 Days,” every Thursday at 9:30pm. Stay tuned to the country’s only 24/7 news channel, ANC at SkyCable channel 27 this jam-packed August.
