Xyriel is the Cutest Ghost in Primetime

"Momay" toppled the other networks’ shows by earning a solid 22% on its pilot episode according to the Taylor-Nelson Sofres ratings results last Monday.

Xyriel confessed that she loves Momay’s character more than her portrayal of the young Agua and Bendita. “Eh kasi hindi po ako nahihirapan. Hindi papalit-palit yung role. Tsaka ako din po yun,” Xyriel shared. The child star sees herself in the character of Momay thus, for Xyriel, portraying the said role just feels like playing on the set. She considers her co-actors as her playmates. No wonder she doesn’t run out of energy even if she spends more than 12 hours taping.

An incoming grade one student, this cute little angel boasts that she’s not having a hard time memorizing her lines. “Hindi po ako nahihirapan. Ako po kasi nagbabasa ng lines namin,” she proudly said. This just proves that Xyriel is really a brilliant kid at the age of six. All of them wanting her to be an actress, her very supportive family helps her in rehearsing her lines.

When asked about her role model, she enthusiastically said, “si Tita Juday po kasi magaling siyang umarte at si Ate Sarah po kasi magaling siyang kumanta.” The bubbly lass didn’t hesitate to give a sample of her singing prowess. She willingly gave her own rendition of Agua Bendita’s theme song “Malayo Pa Ang Umaga” with full of emotions. Dreaming of becoming like her idols, she also aspires to have an acting award and a recording album. Placing third runner up in Star Circle Kid Quest last year, it’ll not be a surprise if Xyriel’s wishes would soon come true.

Right now, the showbiz arena for Xyriel is just like a playground where she can frolic and enjoy. With the busy schedules and exhausting tapings, Xyriel still deserves to enjoy her childhood while fulfilling her dreams one step at a time.

Catch Xyriel Manabat on the newest primetime series on ABS-CBN, “Momay,” before TV Patrol.
