Spotlight on Japanese Singing Sensation, Namie Amuro

After Filipinos embraced K-pop (Korean pop music), J-pop is now set to invade the Philippine Music scene with the release of "Wild" music video featuring the Japanese singing sensation, Namie Amuro.

With the success of Korean pop stars in the country, Japanese pop music is not far behind. The Land of the Rising Sun has a distinct energy spurring and echoing wildly. That’s why a sensational talent from Japan is surfacing within the consciousness of Pinoy music lovers and it goes by the name Namie Amuro.

Amuro, born September 20, 1977, is a Japanese singer, entertainer, and former actress, who, at the height of her popularity, was referred to as the “Teen Queen” and “Queen of Japanese pop music or J-pop”. Born in Naha, Okinawa, Amuro debuted at the age of fourteen as an idol in the girl group Super Monkey’s.

Over a decade since her musical debut, Amuro has remained one of the longest surviving popular female acts in Japan. She is the only Japanese female artist to have achieved a Top 10 single each year for fourteen consecutive years. In the country at present, she is becoming more and more known as the Japanese singing sensation who’s gone “wild”; wild at the charts and wild at heart.

Through the support of renowned Japanese record label Avex Entertainment Inc., Amuro’s hit single “Wild” was released in the Philippines recently. The track is dance, R&B and club driven with a futuristic vibe. It marked Amuro’s 11th number one single in Japan.

Namie Amuro is set to conquer Manila in the days to come. Without question, there’s nothing that could stop this independent woman from staying on top and unleashing her innate power as a stunning singer and dancer who’s also amazingly a single mom to a charming 12-year old lad named Haruto. She’s just the fitting inspiration for many out there who desires to stay vigorous and to look amazingly sexy while letting that wildly confident vibe shine.
