‘You to Me are Everything’ Rakes P16M on First Day According to Reports

The Marian Rivera-Dingdong Dantes movie reportedly grossed P16 million on its first day of showing yesterday.

The box office estimate came from the official Facebook account of “You to Me are Everything” as posted by an insider of the production outfit and was also reported on PEP’s (Pinoy Entertainment Portal) Scoopbox about an hour ago.

If this estimate is accurate, then the Regal Films/GMA Films movie has a very promising week. It’s another long weekend since the election is happening this Monday and it’s an advantage for the Dongyan starrer as people will have more time to watch the film.

“You to Me are Everything” is facing Hollywood films such as “Bounty Hunter” starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler and “Furry Vengeance” starring Brendan Fraser. It is also being pitted to the second week showing of the monster movie “Iron Man 2.”

Bounty Hunter and Furry Vengeance should not be a threat to “You to Me are Everything” as these two films were not huge hits abroad. However, Iron Man 2 should pose a threat since it’s currently the no. 1 movie worldwide and it has grossed a whopping P103,383,810.00 in the Philippines last weekend. But then again, Iron Man 2 is running on its second week and it may already lost some steam. Therefore, “You to Me are Everything” has the potential to take the no. 1 spot at the local box office if the P16 million first day gross is accurate. We’ll see.
