ASAP XV Launches ‘ASAP Bookazine’

In celebration of its 15th anniversary, ABS-CBN’s longest-running, award-winning Sunday noontime show ASAP XV has launched its limited edition 'ASAP Bookazine'—a first show-based publication in the history of musical variety show in the country.

“I think it’s a great idea to come out with this ASAP Bookazine. ASAP has always pioneered in many many things and I guess it’s the best way to get people more interested in the history and the behind-the-scene stories of ASAP,” said Concert King Martin Nievera, the first and only remaining host of the original four.

ASAP’s growth in the last decade and half—from TV show to purveyor of concerts and events, recording and merchandising, to name a few—is nothing short of phenomenal.

In an interview in the bookazine, ASAP XV Business Unit Head Joyce Liquicia had this to say about the show’s continuous innovation. “There is always a need for reinvention. The tastes of our viewers evolve, and so must we. This is the key to ASAP’s successful 15-year run, and for the years to come.”

ASAP XV Bookazine highlights the story of ASAP’s humble beginnings since it started in February 1995, as well as the stories of its stars and production team, on- and off-cam. It contains personal accounts of some of the show’s veteran hosts Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Gary Valenciano.

In the article titled “Biggest Creations of ASAP,” the bookazine showcases the show’s biggest creations and discoveries. ASAP XV has become a proven and tested springboard for stars. It set the stage for now phenomenal groups like The Hunks, The Champions, Cover Boys, DLite, Kanto Boys, IT Girls, YRS and ASAP Sessionistas.

The ASAP XV Bookazine is also a VIP or ‘backstage pass’ for ASAP’s loyal supporters as its pages take readers to a rare tour on the ASAP XV studios, up close and personal interviews with the key people behind its successful operations, and giving them a rare peek at the exciting goings-on behind the scenes, including the show’s recent summer party in Boracay.

ASAP’s venture into publishing further proves that the ASAP brand is a multimedia powerhouse.

Today, ASAP XV boasts of about 50 frontliners whose combined star wattage could put even the most advanced LED lighting technology in the world to shame. From the four original hosts, ASAP XV is now home to many of today’s biggest stars from various fields of entertainment–music, acting, dance, and modeling–all coming together once a week to give audiences three hours of pure musical entertainment.
