Man Escapes Real-Life Twister on ‘I-Survived’

On his way home, a man spots a tornado spinning furiously in the horizon. He immediately rides his bicycle to get to safety but on his way, he stumbles and falls over a wet piece of metal dangled with live wire.

This is not a scene from a movie but farmer Benito Aklan’s real-life experience last June in the province of Quezon. This Thursday (Dec 17) on “I Survived,” he will tell Ces Drilon how he escaped danger after almost getting fried to death from electrocution.

The 42-year old farmer thought he was lucky when the twister changed its direction and went away from the garden he was working on. But while peddling on his bicycle, his front wheel hit a big rock causing him to lose his balance and fall. Aklan got electrocuted right after his skin came into with the metal, which had a live wire fastened into it.

Here the rest of Benito’s story of survival on “I Survived” this Thursday (Dec 17), right after “Bandila” only on ABS-CBN.
