ABS-CBN Almost Steals Audience Share Dominance from GMA in Urban Luzon
For the period of July 26 to August 1, 2009, GMA-7 has a slim lead in terms of household ratings and audience share over its rival, ABS-CBN. The household rating of GMA-7 was 15.8 percent against ABS-CBN’s 15.4 percent (0.4% difference); The audience share of GMA-7, on the other hand, was 37.1 percent against ABS-CBN’s 36.3 percent.
The quite excellent performance of TV5’s Talentadong Pinoy on its timeslot favored GMA-7 in the audience share category as it resulted 14 shows of ABS-CBN in the Top 30. The Kapuso network had 15 and TV5 had 1 (courtesy of Talentadong Pinoy).
ABS-CBN, although beaten by GMA in the audience share and average household rating, was victorious in capturing the first, second and third slots on the Top 30 programs in Urban Luzon.
