High School Musical 3 Tops RP’s Box-office for the 2nd Week

According to Box Office Mojo, the no. 1 movie in the Philippines last Halloween weekend was High School Musical 3: Senior Year and not Star Cinema's My Only U.

Apparently, Star Cinema issued it’s first day estimated gross for My Only You with a figure of “P11 million.” However, The second week of High School Musical 3 raked in P10.57 million only on its 2nd week and if this is the case, My Only You should be the no. 1 film in the Philippines last weekend period of October 29 to November 2, 2008.

But just like what happened to “My Monster Mom” a few months back, a similar thing happened with “My Only U” wherein box-office report has been mysteriously missing the list. In the latest report of Box Office Mojo, the Star Cinema movie is missing in the list:

Philippine Box-Office
(October 29 to November 2, 2008)
1$ = P49.06

1. High School Musical 3: Senior Year – P10,570,516.00
2. The House Bunny – P4,825,149.12
3. City of Ember – P3,658,992.92
4. Max Payne – P3,356,341.78
5. Mag-ingat Ka Sa… Kulam – P1,890,428.98
6. Nights in Rodanthe – P1,796,184.72
7. Body of Lies – P1,477,736.26
8. Living Hell – P1,082,263.60
9. The Strangers – P780,348.36
10. Eagle Eye – P735,115.04

But since “My Only U” earned P11 million on its first day, then there is no doubt that the Toni Gonzaga-Vhong Navarro romantic comedy flick is the real no. 1 movie in the Philippines last Halloween weekend.

Did you watch the movie? Did you like it? Was the theater full, half-full or almost empty the time you watched it?
