There are text messages circulating saying that the first day gross of the romantic comedy movie I.T.A.L.Y. was P17 million beating previous blockbusters For the First Time and A Very Special Love.

The message was said to be coming from GMA Films President Anette Gozon which says:

“GMA Films P35 million budget cruise comedy I.T.A.LY. grosses a phenomenal P17 million on its 1st day of showing. The opening day gross surpassed GMA Films’ expectation. Even surpassing the P14 million opening day gross of Star Cinema/Viva Films’ A Very Special Love. We are now at the top with the future really bright for GMA.”

This text message is in conflict with another report from another source that the movie was only able to rake in P281,000.00 as of 3 p.m. on its opening day last September 17.

I.T.A.L.Y. is a romantic comedy from GMA films and it stars Jolina Magdangal, Dennis Trillo, Rufa Mae Quinto, Mark Herras, Rhian Ramos and Eugene Domingo.
