John Lloyd Cruz will play his most challenging role yet - a schizophrenic husband of Alessandra de Rossi's character in Maalala Mo Kaya.

This is the first time the Box-office King will play a role of a mentally-impaired character.

“Bumisita pa ako sa National Mental Hospital para mag-observe ng mga baliw doon. Siyempre, inalam ko kung anong klaseng pagkabaliw mayroon ang character ko. Inalam ko rin kung paano siya inaatake, kung bakit tagusan ang tingin nila, kasi, karaniwang nasa ibang dimension sila,” he said.

Allessandra de Rossi will play the role of his wife. Both John Lloyd and Alex are members of the cast of ABS-CBN’s I Love Betty La Fea.
