David Hernandez Voted Off on American Idol Top 12

29943.jpgAce comedian Jim Carrey graced the American Idol Top 12 results show dressed as an elephant to promote his upcoming movie "Dr. Seuss Horton Hears A Who." Carrey is the voice of the elephant Horton in the movie produced by 21st Century Fox. Ryan Seacrest revealed that over twenty-nine million votes were cast for the top twelve finalists (that includes overseas calls that we did for Ramiele hehehe). Then the Top 12 performed a medley of Beatles song, which they murdered if you ask me. What's new with tonight's show was that Ryan took some phone calls from viewers across the country and asked their opinions. It was pretty...pretty boring. The most entertaining part of the show, however, was the bickering of Simon and Ryan.

Ryan called the first batch: Carly Smithson, Michael Johns, Jason Castro, and Syesha Mercado to stand up. He declared that Carly, Michael and Jason were safe and Syesha as part of the bottom 3 tonight. Another new thingy this year is that, whenever a singer is told they’re in the bottom three, they will immediately perform. So Syesha performed her possible goodbye performance.

Ryan called the second batch: Chikezie, Amanda Overmyer, David Cook, and Kristy Lee Cook to stand up. He declared that Kristy Lee Cook as part of the bottom 3 and, you know the drill, she performed her possible goodbye performance.

Ryan called the third and last batch: David Archuleta, Brooke White, David Hernandez, and Ramiele Malubay. He declared Ramiele safe (yipee!) and the controversial David Hernandez as part of the bottom 3. David performed “I Saw Her Standing There” as his possible goodbye performance.

The last part was the announcement of who will leave the competition. With more than 29 million votes, Ryan declared that Syesha and Kristy Lee were safe and that David Hernandez was eliminated from the competition.
