U.P. Mountaineering Club member Janet Belarmino, an Ilocana climber from Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya, made history when she and two other Pinays became the first three women in history to cross over the peak of Mt Everest. They made it to the top from the north side and descended from the south. Women who previously climbed Everest trekked only one side.
