GMA 7 put the Filipinos on the creative arts map once again after bagging a whopping 16 awards at the recently-concluded US International Film and Video Festival in Los Angeles, California. GMA and sister station QTV 11 were awarded the Silver Screen trophies for:

• Emergency: The Medical Mission episode (GMA 7)
• I-Witness: Buto't Balat episode (GMA 7)
• Reporter's Notebook: Batang Hitman episode (GMA 7)
• At Your Service (QTV 11)
• Star Power (QTV 11)
• Day Off (QTV 11)
• Women's Desk (QTV 11)

Certificates of Creative Excellence were handed out to:

• Emergency: Black Nazarene/Friday the 13th episode
• Extra Challenge: Promdi episode
• Imbestigador: Juan Tanga episode
• I-Witness: Unggoy episode
• Lovely Day: Engkwentro sa Corregidor episode
• Pinoy Abroad: Pinoy boxers sa Japan episode
• Wish Ko Lang: Patawad episode, Ang Pinaka episode and Sana'y Muling Makapiling episode

The annual awards presentation, which is now on its 39th year, has chosen 153 entries from 24 countries (who managed to have an entry being chosen for competition) worldwide.

Last year, GMA 7 was named the Best (Terrestrial) Station of the Year at the Asian Television Awards in Singapore, the first for the Philippines.

With these feat, i just can’t help but admire GMA 7’s creative team. They make us proud being a Filipino year after year. Mabuhay ang Channel 7! Mabuhay ang Pilipino!
