Catch two film surprises this weekend as OpenAir Cinema One presents the blockbuster film “My Ex and Whys” and the 2017 Oscars’ Best Picture nominee and musical hit “La La Land” at The Fields in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna this Saturday, April 29.
This huge outdoor screening event is OpenAir Cinema One’s third year in Nuvali done in partnership with Nuvali Night Sky Cinema. Tag TV also joins in this year’s revelries.
Grab a friend to lean on as you cry over Liza Soberano’s hugot lines in the blockbuster hit “My Ex and Whys.” Liza plays love-hesitant blogger Cali who has to work with her ex-boyfriend Gio, played by Enrique Gil, as he convinces her that he has retired from his playboy ways. The romantic flick is Liza and Enrique’s most successful movie to date, snagging P341 million worth of ticket sales worldwide since it was first shown in February.
Meanwhile, swoon and sing along to the “City of Stars” tune under the stars in the film “La La Land,” starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling who play aspiring actress Mia and jazz pianist Sebastian as they try to find their way in Hollywood. Emma nabbed the 2017 Academy Award for Best Actress for this role while Ryan got the Best Performance by an Actor in Golden Globe’s Motion Picture category for musical or comedy. The film also garnered other several Academy Awards wins including Best Director for Damien Chazelle.
Music by day, movies by night; the event is hosted by John Lapus and kicks off at 3PM with serenading performances by Pinoy bands UDD (Up Dharma Down) and Maude.
This OpenAir Cinema One event follows the successful Boracay screening of the online and book series-turned-blockbuster film “Vince and Kath and James” held last April 8.
