From 13 shortlisted films last week, the Metro Manila Film Festival committee trimmed the list down to the final 8 entries.

Movies starring BB Gandanghari, Ruru Madrid, Nora Aunor, Cesar Montano and Boots Anson Roa are no longer in the running as the MMFF committee selected the festival staples like Vic Sotto, Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino, Dingdong Dantes and Jorge Estregan.

Presenting the 8 movies opening on Christmas Day 2014:
