Jennylyn Mercado is set to tackle a different kind of role in GMA Network's newest primetime drama "Rhodora X." For the first time in her career, she will play a character afflicted with the Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) popularly known as someone who has "split personality."

During the pilot preview of “Rhodora X” at the 17th floor of GMA Network last Wednesday, January 22, Jennylyn Mercado expressed her delight that after more than 10 years in showbiz, she gets to play a role of a ‘bida kontrabida.’

“First time kong mag-portray ng ganitong character.

“Since laging api-apihan ako, mabait, sinasampal, sinasabunutan, this time parang ang sarap gawin nung nang-aapi tapos nang-aasar lang, medyo salbahe ng konti, parang masarap siyang gawin.”

Adding to her excitement for this project is her reunion with StarStruck batchmates Mark Herras, who won the Ultimate Male Suvivor that time, and her runner up Yasmien Kurdi.

“Excited kami kasi um, si Yasmien pinakamatagal naming hindi nakatrabaho.

“Si Mark, the last time na nagkaroon kami ng drama sa hapon, yung ‘Ikaw Sana.’ ‘yun yung huling huling project namin, that was four years ago, pagkatapos ko pong manganak.

“Tapos ngayon lang ulit kami magkakatrabaho ng medyo matagal tagal pa ulit, etong soap na ‘to, so happy ako kasi ang sarap nilang kasama e sa trabaho, kasi para kaming magkakapatid talaga kaya very excited kami,” she shared.

Joining Jennylyn, Mark and Yasmien in the new primetime soap is Mark Anthony Fernandez. Supporting cast includes Irma Adlawan, Glydel Mercado, Gardo Versoza, Vaness del Moral, Frank Magalona, Lollie Mara, and Ms. Boots Anson Roa.

The creative team is composed of Creative Director RJ Nuevas; Creative Consultant Denoy Navarro-Punio; Headwriter Des Garbes-Severino; Writers Onay Sales, Ken de Leon, and Jules Katanyag; and Brainstormers Rey Leoncito, Borj Danao and Dode Cruz.
