"World War Z" is an upcoming apocalyptic horror film starring Brad Pitt. It is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Max Brooks.

Directed by Marc Forster and written by Matthew Michael Carnahan, the film tackles survivalism and disaster preparation. It was supposed to be a zombie movie, hence the word “Z” in the title but the director’s interpretation of the novel has somewhat avoided the literal.

Also starring in the movie are Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale and Matthew Fox.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters in June 21, 2013.
