“Boys Over Flowers” star Kim Bum surprised many of his Pinoy fans when he unexpectedly arrived in the country last Wednesday.

ABS-CBN first broke the news of his arrival via “Boys Over Flowers” official Twitter account (http://twitter.com/abscbn_bof) which was the first time a Philippine TV network used a social networking site for such announcements.

Bum flew all the way from Korea to shoot a commercial for RC Cola opposite teen actress Maja Salvador.

In an interview with late night entertainment program “Showbiz News Ngayon,” the 20-year-old model-actor expressed how excited he is to work with Maja and even told the dance floor and horror princess on how she looks just like Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Even before he arrived in Manila, Bum is already aware of the aftermath of typhoon Ondoy thus, he also expressed his sympathy to the Filipino people.

“I feel very sorry. I hope you’ll have more strength and power during these times. I believe you can get over it,” he said.

Bum was first seen by Pinoys in ABS-CBN’s hit Asianovela “Boys Over Flowers.” He is more popularly known as the playboy member of the Korean F4 Yi Jeong.

Fans will get to see him once more on the Kapamilya network as they will soon air his sports drama and first starring role in a television series titled “Dream.”
