Ricky Davao was able to grab the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award in the recently concluded International Filmmaker Film Festival held in England.

The award is for his role in the indie suspense movie “Signos” where he played the father of Luis Alandy. Signos is helmed by Aloysius Adlawan and also star Irma Adlawan, Chx Alcala of PBB season 1 and Nancy Jane (the actress formerly known as Nancy Castiglione).

Ricky bested international actors John Lansch (Portrait in Sepia Tone), Neil Newbon (The Run), Peter Elliott (Hallo Panda), and John Wimmer (The Years in the Desert) for the said award.

Two Filipino films were nominated for the category Best Foreign Language Film: Signos (The Signs) and the Bong Ramos film Haw-ang (Before Harvest).

The lead character of Haw-ang, theater actress Kalila Aguilos, was nominated for the category Best Actress in a Leading Role.
